Vrchlabi Lives through Sports
If you need some movement to get through the day, as well as fresh air, you are in the right place. There is choice for experienced as well as occasional sportspersons, as well as for active families with children. Walks, bike rides, cross-country or downhill ski runs – this place is home for movement of any kind.
Aqua Centrum
This swimming and relaxation centre offers a 25 m swimming pool with 4 lanes. The second, relaxation pool with a water temperature of 32°C features attractions such as a wild river, pearl and massage banks. It also offers indoor and outdoor whirlpools, and a steam cabin which is another opportunity to relax. Small kids will enjoy the wading pool with fountain and slide, and the children’s training pool with a depth of up to 1 m. A 60-m long water slide is available for children as well as adults, offering a ride in the dark with light effects.
From Spring to Autumn
Are you attracted by outdoor activities in the fresh air? The Vejsplachy leisure time resort is not far from the town centre, in green countryside, and is accessible all year round. It is designed for walks around the lake on a walkway over wetlands, or for sitting on a pier near the angler’s cabin. Children can use the Bear Pumptrack, children’s playground and inflatable trampolines. Older children, and also courageous adults, can try the bikepark and skatepark. Parents will certainly appreciate the two refreshments stalls. The lake, called Kacak by the locals, is a natural feature offering pleasantly cold water in summer, while if the weather is cold, the Aqua Centrum is the place to swim, have fun or relax.
Vrchlabi, the Gateway to the Krkonose
Take a hike or a trip by bike, on cross-country skis, snow shoes or Alpine skis. You can also see the Krkonose from horseback. The Information Centre will recommend you a destination and how you can get there.
Winter Activities
There are four chairlifts in the town’s immediate surroundings, providing access to Knezicky hill, Herlikovice and the Bubakov ski resort. Those who prefer cross-country skiing can use a 3.5 km circuit in the town which features artificial lighting and snow. If you think it’s time for a change, you can swap your skis for skates and go to the Vrchlabi winter stadium, with regular time slots for public skating.
