Vesplachy Leisure Time Park
Take a few steps out of town, and you are in green countryside that will refresh your body and soul. Just come to relax and forget your everyday worries walking around a lake, on a causeway through a natural site, or sit down on the lake shore with a good coffee. Children may try their skills on a pumptrack, in a skatepark, on trampolines, ride a bike or enjoy the children’s playground.
Natural Swimming Pool in Vejsplachy
This natural swimming pool is referred to as “Kacak” by the locals. It was used for duck breeding after it was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The pool offers pleasantly cold water in hot summers, but at swimmers’ own risk. You can access it from a grassy beach, wooden pier or an angler’s cabin in the middle of the lake. A sand bottom can be found on the western shore. Changing huts, outdoor showers, toilets and refreshments are available along with a children’s playground.
Take a Walk around the Pond
Walking around the lake is always refreshing and helps you to recover from everyday worries. At any time of the year, this trail, 1 km in length, is pleasant, whether you do it on foot, pushing a pram or on your bike.
Medvedi Pumptrack Lazo Plazo
The Lazo Plazo Medvedi Pumptrack is popular with young and adult sportspersons and helps to power your bike. It was built in 2019 thanks to volunteers who provided the finances, did the building work and now care for the place. Situated not far from the lake, it is suitable for experienced riders, children as well as beginners, and everyone can have a lot of fun here.
Kolorado Bikepark
Mountain bike enthusiasts built their own bikepark in the Vejsplachy leisure time park in 2022. It consists of a track with a wooden ramp, three big jumps, wooden causeways and a section with big boulders. A total of 8 cu.m. of larch wood, 350 tons of soil, 30 tons of gravel and 12 tons of stone was used. The facility is designed for experienced riders, not beginners or children.
Skatepark
The modern skatepark near the football pitch in the Vejsplachy leisure time park is also suitable for scooters. It is connected to the complex by the lake, the pumptrack and bikepark via a causeway above the main road. It is made of high-quality smoothed concrete with rounded corners. It makes a perfectly flat surface, the best available in the market now.
Tennis Complex
The tennis complex, with a view of the greenery and water, has been serving players well for many years. The high-quality facility with ever improving services is used for beginners just learning, experienced players and tournaments. It offers three clay courts, two Euro clay courts, an inflatable hall used in cold weather, and also a golf simulator, restaurant and bar.
Athletics and Football Stadium
A modern new stadium, inaugurated in 2015, provides facilities for the football club as well as for cross-country contests in winter. The total capacity, including the galleries and roofed stands, is around 700 persons. A 3.5 km cross-country track around the stadium is groomed in winter, using also artificial snow. It is open even in bad conditions when there isn’t enough natural snow. In good conditions, up to 35 km of cross-country tracks are groomed nearby, starting at the stadium.
Modern New Water Centre
The modern new Aqua Centrum in Vrchlabi was inaugurated at the end of 2022. This swimming and relaxation centre offers a 25 m swimming pool with 4 lanes and a water temperature of 27.5°C. The pool depth is 1.2–1.6 m. The second, relaxation pool with a water temperature of 32°C features attractions such as a wild river, pearl and massage banks, bottom bowlers, underwater and wall jets, and indoor and outdoor whirls. Small kids will enjoy the wading pool with fountain and slide, and the 60-m long water slide. A steam cabin will help you to warm up.
The Vejsplachy Cross-country Resort
Every winter, many kilometres of cross-country tracks are groomed here, some of them featuring artificial lighting and snow. They are located around Kacak Lake in the Vejsplachy complex, south of the town. Homologated cross-country competition tracks are located nearby, as well as other cross-country tracks which lead to Horni Branna, Dolni Branna, Valterice and Knezice, and continue via Benecko to Horni Misecky. Other tourist cross-country tracks are available beyond the municipal park towards Lanov and Strazny. Vrchlabi offers a total of 35 regularly groomed cross-country tracks.
