Old Stone Bridge
This important technical monument is located on the red-marked hiking trail between the town centre and the bus and train stations. Its origins date back to the beginnings of the town, when an important road from Horni Branna and Valterice to Lanov ran over this bridge across the River Labe.
Today’s appearance of the bridge dates back to 1856. After the hundred years’ flood in 1897, a valuable statue of St. John of Nepomuk, dating back to 1709, was transferred to the eastern bridge head from its original site near the so-called Jatecni bridge. In the 1997 floods the bridge was damaged, and was eventually reconstructed in 2006.
