The First Municipal Pharmacy

First Municipal Pharmacy

The first municipal pharmacy was established when the pharmacy in the monastery closed down in 1782. A pharmacist licence was granted to Vincenc Seifensieder, who had bought house no. 38 (today the Devetsil Pharmacy) and converted it into a Classicist style pharmacy.

In 1882 the building was bought by Josef Kozlik. He made the pharmacy renowned by producing and selling famous specialities, namely ointments, drops and tinctures the composition and production process of which were kept strictly secret. The pharmacy also paid special attention to tourists and offered blister and clavus plasters.
